Scandinavian Antique Furniture

Scandinavian Antiques from the late 1700's and throughout the 1800's was nearly always made of local wood, pine, birch and alder. These designs styled after Stockholm fashions and painted to look like expensive materials such as mahogany and marble. Paint colour varied throughout the region.

In the south, lighter shades were used, while in the north darker tones was the preference. Regardless of the paint colour, all Scandinavian Antique furniture has a light simplicity to it, making it suitable for most interiors.
